Senior Letters
We are very impressed when a student dedicates their high school years to Rowing. We know how time consuming it is. We know they can choose “easy” and not commit to attending practice almost every single day.
In 2024, we began a tradition – “Senior Letters”. Our seniors write a letter to the underclassman to read at our End of the Year Banquet. Below are some excerpts. These speak to how much Rowing impacts your life in a positive way and sets you up for success in college and beyond.
Rowing allowed me to break out of self-imposed limitations and prove to myself that I am stronger and more capable than I could have ever imagined. When I joined, I had no idea that it would shape me into the person I am today. I also did not know that I would be brought into a community that would become my family.
I have learned that no matter what life throws at you and no matter what doubts creep in, you are more capable than you know. In those moments when you think you can’t, I promise you that you CAN and you WILL. Dig deep and conquer your goals. Times of doubt are the best times to prove yourself wrong. Show your fight and don’t let your mind set limitations.
Thank you to my coaches for taking me in like family and giving me a support system that has guided me through these past 4 years.
Thank you to my teammates for being sources of light in my life and never failing to push me not only as a rower but as a person. I am the luckiest person to have earned the hardest working teammates, best friends and sisters. Thank you for giving these past 4 years a sense of purpose. Our memories and success will always make me proud and happy. And even though we will not be seeing each other every day anymore, I know our friendship is eternal.

This sport and my team have been one of my greatest blessings. Rowing has left me with valuable skills like time management, commitment and teamwork. But, the greatest thing that Rowing has given me is perseverance. I have seen how all of us have pushed ourselves each and every day to achieve lofty goals – State and Regional Championships and medaling at Nationals.
This team is a sisterhood. Thank you for being my greatest inspiration to becoming my best self. Don’t let the bad days get to you and always rely on each other in your worst moments.
Thank you for the best 4 years of my life.
