As a coaching team, we help each of our athletes achieve their potential on the water and off. In the process, we have achieved the following medal results on the Girls Team:
2026 Scholastic Nationals: NATIONAL CHAMPIONS – Junior 4+
2026 State: Bronze – Junior 4+
2025 State: Silver – 1st Varsity 4+, Bronze – Varsity 2X, STATE CHAMPIONS – 2nd Varsity 4+, Silver – Freshman 4+
2024 State: Bronze – 1st Varsity 8+, Bronze – Lightweight 4X, Gold – Junior 4X
2023 Scholastic Nationals: Silver – Junior 8+
2023 State: STATE CHAMPIONS – Junior 8+
2022 Southeast Regionals: REGIONAL CHAMPIONS – U17 8+
2022 State: Silver – Junior 8+, Bronze – Junior 4X, Silver – Freshman 4+
2021 Southeast Regionals: Bronze – U17 8+
2021 State: STATE CHAMPIONS – Junior 8+

2017 State: Bronze – Junior 4+, Bronze – 2nd Varsity 4+. Our 1st year at States!!
Coach Kathy – Co-Head Coach, Varsity Girls Coach
- Personal: Mom to two daughters who attended STA, graduated college and are now working. Has always been involved with youth organizations including being a Girl Scout Leader for eight years. Co-founded this club in 2015.
- Fun Fact: Coach Kathy was an accountant before becoming a coach. As a result, her rowers receive a lot of data which helps them to improve!
- As A Rower: Competed as a Master Rower for 13 years. Earned many medals at World Masters, Masters Nationals, Hooch and indoor competitions. Was a Varsity Rower at Florida Institute of Technology and Team Captain in college and high school. Has competed at the Head of the Charles, Dad Vails, SIRAs, Canadian Henley and many other regattas.

Coach Megan – Co-Head Coach, Novice Girls Coach
- Personal: Mom and Grand Mom to three daughters, a son, two grandsons and one granddaughter! All of her kids rowed for Miami Rowing Club where she chaired the Youth Committee. Co-founded this club in 2015.
- Fun Fact: Coach Megan also LOVES hiking, biking and cross training and uses her knowledge to create fun workouts for our athletes!
- As A Rower: Competed as a Master Rower for over 13 years. Earned many medals at World Masters, Masters Nationals and Hooch. Was a Varsity Rower at Holy Spirit High School and Florida Institute of Technology. Has also competed at the Head of the Charles, Dad Vails, SIRAs, Canadian Henley and many other regattas.

Coach Mike – Varsity Boys Coach
- Personal: Dad and Grand Pa to two sons, a daughter and two granddaughters. Has coached with our team since the beginning.
- Fun Fact: Won the Vol State 500K as part of a 4 Man Relay Team – a 314 Mile Run from Missouri to Georgia in 2 1/2 days! Do not underestimate his physical AND mental strength!
- As A Rower: Still competes as a Master Rower, earning many medals at World Masters, Masters Nationals, Hooch and indoor competitions. Was a Varsity Rower at Florida Institute of Technology and Holy Spirit High School. Won the Dad vails twice in the Freshman 8+ and Varsity 8+. Also won Scholastic Nationals in the Lightweight 8+.
Coach Jamie – Novice Boys Coach
- Personal: Originally from Michigan. Grew up in a large, competitive sports family with 3 sisters and 1 brother. Proud Aunt to 4 nephews and 1 niece who are just beginning their competitive sport careers!
- Fun Fact: Loves to travel and spend as much time with family as possible. Can be found playing a pick-up game of sand volleyball with her siblings. Proud of walking the Camino de Santiago from Portugal to Spain over several weeks with family.
- As A Rower: Although she played volleyball and basketball growing up, she earned a rowing scholarship to Eastern Michigan State University to compete at the Division 1 Level. Competed at the Head of the Charles, Hooch, MACRA, George Mason Invite and other regattas. Rowed in the Novice 8 and Varsity 8 contributing to a program-best conference finish. Thinks rowing is much more enjoyable in Florida temperatures and encourages other multi-sport athletes to give Rowing a try!
